Free 10-day returns — try them risk-free
Prescription Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Every pair of Varadero prescription lenses is made to order for your eyes and your frame. This policy explains what we need from you, what happens if your new lenses don't feel right, and how our warranty works. It applies to prescription eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses, and readers.
Your prescription
To order prescription lenses, you'll need:
- A current, unexpired prescription from a licensed eye doctor (optometrist or ophthalmologist).
- Your pupillary distance (PD). If it isn't on your prescription, you can measure it at home with our free PD ruler.
We make your lenses exactly from the numbers you enter, so please double-check them before you order. Readers don't need a prescription, so just choose your strength.
Returns: frames are refundable, lenses are not
Prescription lenses are custom-made for you, so the cost of your lenses, including any coatings, tints, and lens upgrades, is non-refundable. If you'd like to return your prescription glasses, we'll refund the cost of the frame. Request your return within 14 days of delivery (see our Refund Policy), and send back the complete glasses in their original condition with the protective case.
If you need to cancel an order, email us right away. Once your lenses are in production, they can't be stopped, and cancelling may be subject to a charge. If something isn't right with your lenses, the guarantees below may serve you better than a return.
If we made a mistake
If your lenses don't match the prescription you gave us, or arrive with a problem in the lenses themselves, contact us within 14 days of delivery. If the mistake is ours, we'll remake your lenses free of charge and cover all shipping costs.
Adaptation guarantee: one free remake within 14 days
New lenses, especially progressives, can take some time to feel natural. We recommend wearing them full-time for about a week before deciding. If you still can't adjust, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we'll remake your lenses once, free of charge. For example, we can switch your lens design (such as progressive to single vision) or adjust your fitting measurements.
To use the guarantee, you'll send back your original glasses, and we'll email you instructions. It covers one remake per order and isn't a cash refund. If you switch to a higher-priced lens, you'll only pay for the upgrade.
Doctor's prescription change
If your eye doctor corrects your prescription and you let us know within 14 days of delivery, we'll remake your lenses with the updated prescription free of charge. Just email us a copy of the new prescription. You may be responsible for shipping costs.
1-year warranty on lenses and frames
Your prescription lenses and frame are warrantied for 1 year from delivery against manufacturing defects. For lenses, that includes defects in the lens or its coatings, such as peeling, crazing, or delamination. For frames, it includes defects in materials or workmanship, such as a faulty hinge or flaking finish. If a covered defect appears, we'll replace the defective lenses or frame free of charge. You may be responsible for shipping costs.
The warranty covers manufacturing defects only. It doesn't cover glasses that are broken, lost, or scratched, or damage from accidents, heat (for example, glasses left in a hot car), improper cleaning, or normal wear. See our frame care guide to keep your glasses in top shape.
